Once its head, arms, and legs are retracted, it looks indistinguishable from the ruins of an ancient fortress. The enormous quantity of research data it holds has turned it into a slow-witted Digimon with a large build; nevertheless, bringing it down is likely a difficult task, even if it is attacked by scores of Digimon. It is the very definition of an impregnable Digimon. Its Special Moves are charging the opponent with its large body and breaking through, even while under attack (Golden Road), and striking with its gigantic foot, shaking the earth (Meteor Earthquake). Also, it can bite through the opponent with the power of its mighty jaws (Giant Nipper). El Doradimon is a massive Digimon with an ancient Digimon city known as the Holy Capital on its back. Unfortunately, it was killed and its data collected by Kurata Akihiro's army of Gizmon: XT.

Digimon Adventure:

El Doradimon served as the base for Devimon's castle, and was kept trapped under the ground. While Yagami Taichi and Ishida Yamato, alongside Metal Greymon and Were Garurumon were fighting Splashmon Darkness Mode, Takaishi Takeru climbed down a hole, in which he found and released El Doradimon. Due to this, El Doradimon let the Chosen Ones and their Digimon enter it.

After Done Devimon is defeated, El Doradimon went to the next location while being boarded by the Chosen Children.

Takeru found El Doradimon again before the events of "A Place to Return To". El Doradimon wished to return to Cloud Continent, but couldn't due to its weight and having to climb a sheer slope. Takeru and Patamon tried to help, but they were unable to push it far enough. Leomon, Taichi and Agumon then tried to help, as did several Digimon that had lost their homes to Millenniumon's rampage after it revived and were convinced by Takeru's determination to help, and they managed to get El Doradimon up on Cloud Continent, only for it to be unable to hold its weight and break apart, causing it to fall. However, Gravimon then joined them, having left his cynicism behind thanks to Takeru's never give up attitude, and with its help as well as Holy Angemon's, who created a Seraphimon aura due to Takeru's shining hope, El Doradimon gained wings and could fly to Cloud Continent.

After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Whamon kept swimming alongside Marin Angemon's city, propelled by Daipenmon's Kakikaki-kun and Kochikochi-kun, now accompanied by Digimon from the city itself: a Seahomon, a Sangomon and a Shakomon, as well as groups of Betamon and Seadramon, and a Ranamon. Meanwhile, El Doradimon floated above them.
